Telemar SpA was founded in 1947 by the major Italian shipowners engaged in the supply of services for the management of maritime communications via a complete technical supporting activity and reciprocal service agreements with the most important companies. Today Telemar’s main shareholder is d’Amico Società di Navigazione Group. www.damicoship.com

The history of Telemar has been marked out by a constant development inspired by the following strategic lines:

	Knowing and caring for the shipowners We have a well-established and direct relationship with the shipowners and have developed a unique knowledge of the needs and situations affecting the maritime industry.

	Consultancy We developed a complete range of services and systems with a strong level of professional advice in all the areas: Sales, installation and maintenance of satellite and electronic navigation equipment and applications. Management and billing of maritime and land communications. Sales of land satellite systems.

	Internationalization Since the end of the nineties, Telemar has been accessing the most important and dynamic countries through subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden and Finland, United Kingdom, United States, China, Hong Kong and the Caribbean area. These companies are today a strategic asset for the Group and contribute significantly to the steady increase of revenues and profits.

Since October 1996 Telemar is ISO 9001 accredited and since 2003 its Quality System is certified in compliance with ISO 9001:2000.

Telemar has today a leading position thanks to its integrated business model which the shipping industry has recognized as the most efficient and effective because it combines: a global technical network; well-established partnerships; contracts that offer simplicity and integrated replies to all the requirements made by the shipowners.

From 2003 to 2006 consolidated revenues have increased by 20%.
