Overview
This brand new Inmarsat global portable communication system BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) enables simultaneous full duplex broadband voice and data applications, using a very small and extra-light terminal (up to 492 Kbps according to the model and manufacturer).
Besides being the first Inmarsat terminal capable of using both voice and data channels at the same time, the BGAN system also gives the opportunity of requesting a guaranteed (in/out) data transmission speed of up to 256 Kbps (another absolute first time) for applications in IP streaming
